Mental health is a rising topic throughout the world, and especially in the United States. Common mental health conditions include: depression, anxiety, schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, and various eating disorders.
Mental health has been a growing topic over the last decade or so, and people feel more and more comfortable talking about their mental health as time passes. One notable person to come out and talk about their mental and it’s impact on their performance is US Olympic all-star, Simone Biles.
Eating disorders are a serious that can be fatal illness, “that are associated with severe disturbances in people’s eating behaviors and related thoughts and emotions,” as stated by the National Institute of Mental Health.
Another fairly talked about mental health disorder is Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD). According to the National Institute of Mental Health, about 1.2% of U.S. adults have OCD.
COVID-19 brought a lot of devastation with it. It is already responsible for more than 600,000 deaths in the United States, and has made it’s way to every continent, mutated, and brought on multiple waves.
